  • A licensee, other than a licensee who provides a care program described as School Age Care on School Grounds, must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.

    Observation. Licensing tested two sinks in the portable where children access hot water and the temperature was 51. 2 ° Celsius 51.5 ° Celsius . This represents an immediate risk to the health and safety of children in care and must be corrected immediately. Staff stated they will put up a sign indicating that the hot water should not be used. The staff will notify the Licensee to ensure the water temperature is addressed with the School District. Full compliance will not be achieved until the plan has been implemented and completed.

    Corrective action. Ensure children do not have access to water greater than 49 degrees Celsius.
