    Observation. Licensing reviewed an emergency record that indicated to contact parents if symptoms occur however there was no other information provided. Staff also were unaware of this information.

    The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

    Observation. In Room D, LO observed that the facility walls and baseboards in the children's washroom appear to be dirty, soiled and stained.

    Observation. In the classroom spaces, LO observed the following: -unsecured bi-fold doors in Room A, B, and C which pose a risk of harm to children in care -two unsecured shelving units in Room B, three unsecured shelving units in Room C and two unsecured shelving units in Room D. The unsecured shelving units pose a risk of harm in the event that they tip or fall on a child in care.

    Hazardous objects and substances are inaccessible to children. [CCLR Sec 17]

    Observation. In Room D, LO observed a metal art drying rack next to the toilet in the children's washroom. Due to the placement of the art drying rack it appears that there is an inadequate amount of space for a child to use the toilet and poses a risk of harm.

    Observation. LO observed the following: -In Room C, an incomplete care plan for 1 child -In Room D, an incomplete care plan for 1 child -In Room C, it appears that care plans for two children were last reviewed in April 2022 and September 2023

    The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

    Observation. In the classroom space LO observed the following: -a plastic bin containing play wooden blocks is cracked and no longer in good repair -three adult sized chairs that are cracked along the seat. In addition, LO observed that tape has been used to cover the cracked areas on the seat of the chair. In the children's washroom LO observed the following: -children's step stools used to support handwashing and toileting are soiled, dirty and stained. It appears that the step stools are in need of a clean. -standing water around the children's hand washing basins. In addition, the silicone sealant around the wash basins appears to be discolored and has come off in several areas. -the art sink counter top is visibly dirty, stained, soiled and cluttered. It appears that the art sink intended for handwashing after activities is being used as a storage space. -the facility walls near the children's washroom appears to be have indentations and the paint is chipped and peeling. In addition, the facility walls appear to be dirty, soiled, stained and no longer easy to clean.
