  Observation. Requisite procedures for preparing for, mitigating, responding to and recovering from any emergency have not been developed.

  Observation. Manager could not produce the required emergency plan for the program.

  Observation. Photographs of children were missing or out of date.

  Observation. Staff assured Licensing Officer that inspections are done each day; however, a log is not kept.

  Staff are trained in the implementation of the fire drill system and the emergency plan, including the use of any equipment noted in the fire drill system and emergency plan. [CCLR Sec. 22(2)(a)]

  Observation. When questioned, staff could not describe the fire drill system or emergency plan.

• A licensee must have in writing from a parent, and maintain at the community care facility, consent (b) to release a child to someone other than the parent.

  Observation. Licensing audited seven children's files. Two children's files did not have permission to release them to someone other than their parent.

  Corrective action. Ensure children's files includes permission to release them to someone other than than their parent.

• The licensee must not permit a person over the age of 12 to be ordinarily present on the premises of a community care facility while children are present, unless the person is of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for that person.

  Observation. Licensing observed a Criminal Record Check had expired on February 25, 2021 and it had not been renewed for a person over the age of 12 who was ordinarily present.

  Corrective action. Ensure that the criminal record check is renewed every five years for persons over the age 12 who are ordinarily present.
