  A healthy and safe environment is provided at all times [CCLR Sec. 13(1)].

  Observation. There is compost stored in the main play space in a paper bag. Not only does this compost give off an odor it will also attract pests (ants and mice). The other programs that use this shared space add their compost items as well and some of these items are causing the bag to leak and create a slipping hazard.

  Heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius. [CCLR Sec. 47]

  Observation. Water used by the children should not exceed 49'C Licensing aware there has been schedule set for an upcoming upgrade of the program, with the anticipated completion date expected around summer 2025. Following the renovation, Licensing will conduct a follow-up to ensure a smooth transition and revisit the heated water temperature in both children's washrooms.

  For each child requiring extra support, the licensee keeps a current care plan showing the required information. [CCLR Sec. 58(1)(2)]

  Observation. One care plan was observed onsite; however, the care plan appears to be incomplete, and some information is missing. Specifically, information on triggers, symptoms, medication expiry dates, and the signatures of staff/parents.

  Medications are not accessible to children. [CCLR Sec. 53(2)]

  Observation. Licensing Officer observed that one medication was not on site while the child was attending the program. Staff informed Licensing that the child is not in a severe stage and the medication is kept at home.

  Observation. Licensing observed one laminate flooring plank in the children's washroom appears to be shrinking and curled out. This was posing a risk for tripping hazard.
