- MEDICATION
If a licensee has agreed with a parent to give a child any medication prescribed by a medical practitioner or provided by the parent, the licensee and his or her employees must ensure that the medication is (a) administered to the child in the amount and at the times specified by the child's parent or in the child's record or care plan.
Observation. Licensing observed medication for one child was not labeled with the child's name or instructions.
Corrective action. Manager corrected this at the time of inspection.

- STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.
Observation. 9 staff files were reviewed; 1 staff's CRC expired in 2022.
Corrective action. Ensure all staff files are complete. Manager was not aware that the staff's CRC expired last year, they applied for the CRC while licensing was on site.

A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. Soiled diapers were not disposed of in a covered garbage can. cleaning supplies were accessible in the hallway bathroom Soothers were located in a basket touching in one classroom. The Supervisor removed this at the time of the inspection.
Corrective action. Ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times.
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - MEDICATION

Observation. multiple children had medication or care plans with medication being given as needed, without specific symptoms or times when to give the medication.
Corrective action. Ensure that the information is specific to the amount and times or symptoms when the medication is to be administered.
16010 - CCLR s.53(1)(a) - NUTRITION AND FOOD SERVICES
A licensee must ensure that children are not (c) left unsupervised while consuming food or drink. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): It was observed that a child was asleep in the nap room with a bottle that had liquid in it. The Manager removed the bottle at time of inspection.
Corrective action. Ensure that children are not left unsupervised while consuming food or drink
17100 - CCLR s.48(4)(c) - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. The fire extinguishers are overdue for service. The Licensee Director said that they will be serviced on December 16, 2022
Corrective action. Ensure that fire extinguishers are serviced annually.
