    A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

    Observation. While inspecting the outdoor play area, Licensing observed a broken slat in the fence creating a gap in the fence.

    Corrective action. Licensee stated that the fence will be repaired.

    A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.

    Observation. At the time of the inspection, the water at the sink used by children tested at 61.5 degrees Celsius.

    Corrective action. Licensee stated that she will have the hot water turned off at the tap until a regulator can be installed.

    A licensee must ensure that the entire outdoor play area is (a) enclosed in a manner that is suitable for the age and development of children, and will ensure that children are free of harm.

    Observation. Observed the following in the outdoor area: - Brambles in the play area which the Licensee said they have cleared a lot of. Licensee also said that dog feaces are cleared when the group goes outside and the gate is placed on the stairs.

    Corrective action. Please ensure a safe outdoor play area at all times - provide a corrective action plan to Licensing

    Observation. Fire drills were not recorded for November, December and January. Licensee said that they were practiced and are done so around the 15th of every month. Records support that.

    Corrective action. Licensee will ensure that records are maintained going forward
