• LICENSING

  Applicants for licences and licensees must notify a medical health officer immediately of any change in the information provided under section 9.

  Observation. Licensee contact did not provide notification to Licensing of the intent to change the facility's manager.

  Corrective action. Submit to Licensing the appropriate documents required to change the facility's manager.

• POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

  A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].

  Observation. Through discussion with the staff it was determined that the fire drill for September was practiced but not recorded.

  Corrective action. Ensure the practiced fire drills are recorded.

• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  A licensee must notify the medical health officer within 24 hours after (a) a child is involved in, or may have been involved in, a reportable incident described in Schedule H while under the care or supervision of the licensee.

  Observation. The minor incident report log detailed an event which meets the definition of a reportable incident as outlined in Schedule H of the Child Care Licensing Regulation as Missing and Wandering.

  Corrective action. Ensure a review of Schedule H is done with staff to ensure reportable incidents are submitted to Licensing.

  Observation. Licensing noted a checklist posted indicating the practise of fire drills however the last documented fire drill was May 2023. Licensing spoke with the senior staff member, and it appears that the fire drills have not been practised or recorded

  Corrective action. Staff will practise and record monthly fire drills with the children in care
