  Observation. Licensing observed two children missing a photo on their files.

• A licensee, other than a licensee who provides a care program described as School Age Care on School Grounds, must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.

  Observation. Licensing tested hot water at sink accessible to children at 55 degrees Celsius. This represents an immediate risk to the health and safety of children in care. Licensee provided a verbal plan to supervise hand washing and install a childproof knob over hot water tap. Licensing accepted this plan at the time of this inspection. Full compliance will not be achieved until the plan has been implemented and completed.

  Corrective action. Ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.

• A licensee must have in writing from a parent, and maintain at the community care facility, consent (a) to call a medical practitioner or ambulance in case of accident or illness if the parent cannot immediately be reached,

  Observation. Observation during the inspection was that the Licensee did not have parental consent to call an ambulance in the event that a parent cannot be immediately reached.

  Corrective action. Ensure that parental consent to call an ambulance is on each child's file. Action/s Required by Licensing: Follow Up Inspection to be conducted.

• A licensee must immediately notify a parent or emergency contact if, while under the care or supervision of the licensee, the child becomes ill or is injured,

  Observation. A review of the Licensee's minor injury log indicated that parents had not been notified immediately when a child had an injury.

  Corrective action. Ensure that parents are notified immediately in the event of the child being injured or ill. Action/s Required by Licensing: Follow Up Inspection to be conducted.
