  • RECORDS AND REPORTING / Community Care Facility RecordsNon-critical

There is current log of minor incidents, illnesses and unexpected events, that did not require medical attention and were not reportable incidents described in Schedule H. [CCLR Sec. 56 (1)(f)]

Observation. Licensing was unable to observe a minor incident log pertaining to the Multiage program.

  • RECORDS AND REPORTING / Records For Each ChildNon-critical

The licensee keeps a current record for each child showing the information required. [CCLR Sec. 57]

Observation. Licensing was only able to observe two weeks of attendance related to the Multiage program. The staff informed Licensing that children from the GCC 30 Months to School Age program were also participating in the Multiage program. The attendance records were inaccurate, as only three children from the School Age program were signed in. A conversation was held with the staff to ensure that all children attending the Multiage program are signed in, and that the transfer of care from any other programs the children are signed out from is properly documented. Licensing was unable to review past attendance records, but the staff explained that the Multiage attendance records had been recently created. Previously, children were signed out separately in the GCC 30 Months to School Age program and the School Age program, as reported by the staff to Licensing.

  • RECORDS AND REPORTING / Records Must Be AvailableNon-critical

All records other than those referred to in CCLR sections 56 to 58 are kept in a place from which they can be retrieved within a reasonable time, on request. [CCLR Sec. 59(b)]

Observation. Records were retrieved by staff from the GCC School Age program and the GCC 30 Months to School Age program, but there were no records pertaining to the Multiage program.

  • STAFFING / Emergency Training and EquipmentNon-critical

Implementation of the fire drill system is practiced at least once each month, and implementation of the emergency plan is practiced at least once each year. [CCLR Sec. 22(2)(b)(c)]

Observation. Licensing was unable to observe records of monthly fire drill and annual emergency drill pertaining to the Multiage program.
