  • A licensee must notify the medical health officer within 24 hours after (a) a child is involved in, or may have been involved in, a reportable incident described in Schedule H while under the care or supervision of the licensee,

    Observation. Regarding intake February 13, 2025. Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that a staff member had used an emergency restraint to stop the child from running into traffic, this emergency restraint was not reported to Licensing.

    Corrective action. Ensure notification occurs within 24 hours when a child is involved in a reportable incident described in Schedule H. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On March 14, 2025, Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included: If an emergency restraint was necessary the facility would notify Licensing within 24 hours and an incident report would be completed. This information had been added t o new employee orientation training and was to be reviewed with all employees on March 14, 2025. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing.

    Observation. Licenisng observed that a copy of the fire drill system was kept inside of a closed storage closet. Manager stated the closet remained closed during program. Item corrected at time of inspection.

    Observation. Licensing observed that the community care facility Licence was kept in a closed storage closet. Manager stated the door of the closet had to remain closed during program time. Item Corrected at time of inspection.

    Corrective action. Ensure a licence is displayed in a prominent place at the community care facility.
