Observation. Licensing observed one staff certificate was not posted. The Licensee Contact stated they recently had staff turnover and they had one staff come from their other Licenced location located next door. This was corrected during the inspection.
Corrective action. Ensure certficates of any educator is displayed in a prominat place.

Observation. Licensing observed a minor incident report which indicated a child choked and first aid was administered. This was not reported to Licensing.

Observation. The outdoor play space maintenance log had not been completed for April 2022. Staff stated they performed checks each day. Staff corrected during inspection.
Corrective action. Ensure thorough daily, monthly and annual inspections, as well as maintenance and repairs of the outdoor play area are performed and recorded.
3000 - SPS DOLSOP (Inspected) - A licensee must have in writing from a parent, and maintain at the community care facility, consent (b) to release a child to someone other than the parent.
Observation. Licensing reviewed eight children's files and one was missing written consent to release to someone other than the parent. Manager corrected during inspection.
Corrective action. Ensure all children have written consent to release to someone other than the parent on file.
3070 - CCLR 57(3)(b) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a valid certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the licensee using a system established and maintained by the director of the early childhood educator registry
Observation. One staff file reviewed and it had a validation from a previous certificate. Manager corrected during inspection.
Corrective action. Ensure all educators and assistants hold a valid certificate issued under Division 2 and the Licensee has verified certification from the ECE Registry.
