  All indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are suitable for the age and development of the children, safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair. [CCLR Sec. 16(4)]

  Observation. Program offers a range of indoor and outdoor play materials that are shared amongst the groups as per children's needs and interests. Furnishings and equipment in school cafeteria are in satisfactory condition. One issue that requires attention - the school has placed a large storage locker in front of a portion of the wall mounted hooks required to store children's belongings.

  The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

  Observation. Noted that corners, areas between and behind items are receiving adequate attention from cleaners, i.e. vacuuming. Noted other small actions required re maintenance some of which the licensee is aware via work orders. See list below. Some actions pertain to School Age #2.

  The entire outdoor play area is enclosed and constructed in a manner that is suitable for the age and development of children, and ensures that children are free of harm. [CCLR Sec. 16(3)(a)(b)]

  Observation. Noted the school has installed an "outdoor classroom" consisting of large boulders with flat surfaces and coarse gravel surfacing. Noted there are no natural elements such as vegetation beyond the stone. Area is stark, hard and cold. The stumps next to the portable have been removed.
