Observation. Licenisng observed that changes had been made to the outdoor play area without notification to the MHO. Changes included addition of artificial turf, addition of wood chips as protective surfacing, closure of outdoor play area for the Group Child Care (School Age) program and installation of an elevated climber measuring 5 feet in height. Manager stated that it took approximately three weeks for the renovations to occur and during that time the outdoor play area was not accessible to children so the children went on field trips to play elsewhere.
Corrective action. Ensure the MHO is notified of any changes provided under Section 9.

Observation. Licensing observed the outdoor space in the Group Child Care (School Age) had a plastic slide pushed up against the fence, a hockey net with peeling paint chips and rust and a sharp metal piece sticking out of the cement wall. Licensing observed the hockey net removed from the play area and the slide pulled away from the fence at the time of the inspection.
Corrective action. Ensure children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to their health and safety.
