    Observation. Licensing conducted a Follow Up Complaint Inspection and observed five children from the Group Child Care (Under 36 Months) all of them under the age of 36 months, were moved to the Group Child Care (30 Months to School Age) program to allow staff having breaks. The Corrective Action Plan submitted to Licensing on July 4, 2025, was not followed as they have indicated that they would ensure the staff to child ratio was met during all hours of operation.

    Corrective action. Ensure a corrective action plan submitted and accepted by Licensing is followed at all times.

  • A licensee must ensure that a child, while under the care or supervision of the licensee, is not subjected to confinement or physical restraint by an employee, except as authorized in a child care plan if the plan includes instructions respecting behavioural guidance.

    Observation. Regarding intake May 29, 2025. Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that a child was restrained by a staff member without proper authorization in a care plan.

    Corrective action. Ensure a child, while under the care or supervision of the licensee, is not subjected to confinement or physical restraint by an employee, except as authorized in a child care plan if the plan includes instructions respecting behavioural guidance. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On July 4, 2025, Licensee Contact submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included: All staff would receive mandatory training regarding positive guidance strategies and prohibited practices by a certified trainer. Staff would have weekly team meetings to discuss behavioral guidance strategies. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. On August 6, 2025, Licensing received incomplete information regarding compliance with the corrective action plan, which required staff to hold weekly meetings to discuss behavioural guidance strategies. On August 12, 2025, Licensing requested an updated corrective action plan and additional information regarding the staff meetings.

Action/s Required by Licensing: On July 4, 2025, Licensee Contact submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing.     Observation. Regarding intake May 29, 2025. Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that children over the age of 36 months from the Group Child Care (30 Months to School Age) were moved to the Group Child Care (Under 36 Months), which did not comply with the ages permitted in Schedule E.

    Corrective action. Ensure that children attending a community care facility are divided into groups, with each group having no more children than that permitted in Schedule E. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On July 4, 2025, Licensee Contact submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included: review of scheduling of staff to ensure ratios during all hours of operation was reassessed and scheduled. Regional Manager would audit schedules twice monthly. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. On August 8, 2025, Licensing conducted a Follow Up Complaint Inspection and observed that five children from the Group Child Care (Under 36 Months) were moved to the Group Child Care (30 Months to School Age). All children were under 36 months, which was not compliant with Schedule E that only allows two children under 36 months in a Group Child Care (30 Months to School Age).

    Observation. Regarding intake May 29, 2025. Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that the Medical Health Officer was notified of the reportable incident within 24 hours.

    Corrective action. Ensure to notify the medical health officer within 24 hours after a child is involved in, or may have been involved in, a reportable incident described in Schedule H while under the care or supervision of the licensee. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On July 4, 2025, Licensee Contact submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included: Staff would review incident reporting and timelines procedures. All incidents would be reviewed by the centre manager within two hours of occurrence.
