  • A licensee must ensure that behavioural guidance is appropriate to the age and development of the child who is receiving the guidance,

    Observation. Regarding intake May 29, 2026. Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that the interaction between a staff person and a child in care did not follow positive guidance practices that support the child's dignity and emotional well being.

    Corrective action. Ensure all staff follow the behavioral guidance practices at the facility that support a child's dignity and well being and prohibits practices that are demeaning or involve physical handling for the purpose of compliance. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On June 15, 2026, Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. On June 19, 2026, Licensee submitted a revised Corrective Action Plan to Licensing. The revised corrective action plan included a revised Behavioral Guidance Policy that is committed to providing a safe, caring, healthy, and inclusive environment where children are supported in developing self-esteem, self regulation, social responsibility, and positive relationships with others. All staff signed this policy on June 10, 2026, and a copy of the policy was sent to all daycare families. The staff involved in the incident will complete four online courses regarding managing children's behaviour and will provide Licensing with completed course certificates by July 1, 2026. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing.

    Observation. Licensing observed that the container used for soiled clothing did not have a cover.

    Corrective action. Ensure that a covered container for soiled clothing is located next to a sturdy surface for changing diapers. Action/s Required by Licensing: Follow Up Inspection to be conducted.

  • A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure

    Observation. Licensing reviewed the attendance records of all programmes. Licensing observed that on the Group Child Care (School Age) attendance there were times of arrival missing for two children on July 12, 2021, for two children on July 14, 2021 and for two children on July 15, 2021, and times of departure missing for one child on July 12, 2021 and two children on July 16, 2021.

    Corrective action. Ensure that, for each child, there is a record following the time of arrival and departure. Action/s Required by Licensing: Follow Up Inspection to be conducted.
