- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.
Observation. The hot water in one of the bathrooms accessible to children is measuring above 49° Celsius.
Corrective action. The licensee said they will install a hot water regulator.
11230 - CCLR s.47 - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. The fire extinguisher is past due service. Some food in the emergency supplies are expired.
Corrective action. The licensee said that the service is scheduled in 4 days. The food will be replenished.
13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.
Observation. Upon review of several children's records, one is missing the medical insurance plan number.
Corrective action. The licensee will obtain this information from the parent and record it.

Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (b) the ratio of employees to children attending a community care facility is no less than that permitted in Schedule E. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): School Age, incl. K or Gr. 1 - Staff to Child ratio not maintained. (RA) Thirteen children in attendance with only one staff member when the Licensing Officer arrived. A second staff arrived within 30 minutes to correct the staff to child ratio.
Corrective action. Ensure the ratio of employees to children attending a community care facility is no less than that permitted in Schedule E.
