Licensing observed the following: 1) The white metal railings and glass railings enclosing the basement stairwell and back deck have extensive algae and dirt build up and are in need of cleaning or power washing. 2) One fence post at the side of the house is loose and leaning over. The post is at risk of falling over and requires to be secured. 3) Once fence board is loose and has an entrapment gap. 4) The wood board enclosing the bottom step of the basement stairs is loose on one end.

Observation. Licensing observed that one child's registration information identified the child as having asthma and requiring an inhaler as needed. Licensing observed no care plan available for this child. Staff were uncertain if the child still used an inhaler. Follow up needed with the child's family on this matter to determine if a care plan is required.

Observation. Licensing observed the raised hearth of a fire place that had been previously covered with fabric and padding on the blunt edges. The blunt edge on the left side of he hearth has become exposed and appeared to be sharp. This poses a risk of injury.

Observation. Licensing observed that some type of shrub had been previously removed from the left side of the outdoor play space along the fence. The stems of the shrubs were sticking out of the ground and appeared to be sharp. This poses a risk of injury if a child were to fall into this area.

Observation. Fridge temperature 0-4'C= good! Licensing observed a bi-fold closet door located in the children's washroom that was unsecured. This poses a risk of finger pinching. Licensing observed blind cords unsecured and accessible in the nap room, children's washroom, and main room. It appeared that some of the blind cords had been secured by being tied in a knot but had slipped and became loose. This poses a risk of entanglement. Licensing observed a large cork board being stored against a wall in the eating area. This poses as a hazard.

Observation. Licensing observed a gate the was unlocked and accessible from the alley behind the facility. Licensing was informed that the gate is not used by staff or families to enter the facility. The staff informed Licensing that they were unsure how to lock the gate as a key was needed. This poses as a risk as anyone can enter the backyard from the alley way and the gate is accessible by the children. Licensing observed a deck area that the children and staff pass through to access the outdoor play space. Licensing observed broken plastic items, plastic containers, a broken corner cushion, and two containers of ice melter located on the deck. Staff informed Licensing that this area is not used by the children. These items pose as a hazard and are accessible to the children.
