Observation. Licensing observed a gap below a part of the fencing along the side to the resident building to measure approximately 6 inches. This poses a possible entrapment hazard.

Observation. Licensing observed a child's medication to have expired in November 2023. Facility staff informed that they are in communication with the family to retrieve updated medication.

Observation. *A child's asthma medication was observed to be expired since January of 2021. Expired medications should not be administered to children, therefore this medication is not considered to be readily accessible.

The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction. They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]
Observation. *CCFL observed a cracked window behind the couch in the KCJR room that has been temporarily mended with duct tape. The window is no longer in good repair. *Wallpaper throughout the facility was observed to be peeling and stained yellow in several areas, especially in the KC1 washroom and small activity room. Some of the wallpapered areas of the facility are no longer easy to clean or in good repair.

Observation. *CCFL observed a pest control box located just under the edge of one of the small decks outside.

Observation. *Fire drills have not been documented for the months of April to September 2021 and again from November 2021 to February 2022. *The fire extinguishers have recently expired as of March 26, 2022.

Observation. *Licensing observed the following: -a gap at the bottom of the entry gate is too large. -a space on the elevated boardwalk where deck 1 meets deck 2 is large enough for a child to possibly wedge themselves in between. -gaps were observed between many of the large rocks and logs throughout the play yard presenting the possibility of foot entrapment.
