  Observation. Licensing observed that fire drill records were missing for the months of January, March, and May. Fire drills are required to be conducted monthly, and emergency drills must be conducted annually.

  All indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are suitable for the age and development of the children, safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair. [CCLR Sec. 16(4)]

  Observation. Licensing observed a playground climbing rope on the outdoor climbing structure. The bottom of the ropes protective barrier has worn away, exposing the bare cables underneath. This item is not in good repair.

  Loose fill material is not at least 15 cm (6 inches) deep for equipment 1.5 meters (5 feet) in height.

  Observation. Licensing measured a depth of 3 inches of protective surfacing from the highest fall point in the outdoor play area. This poses a risk of injury.

  The licensee keeps a current record for each child showing the information required. [CCLR Sec. 57]

  Observation. The facility uses E-pact electronic record keeping for children's records. Children's records examined today were complete. As discussed one child in care has a possible allergy to Seafood as written by the parent on the registration form/Epact. The parent notes the child may need to "drink Antihistamine" if exposed. Manager must confirm with the parent if this child does have an allergy and if a medication must be onsite. If confirmed an Allergy Care Plan must be completed by the parent and posted. If the parent confirms the child does not have an allergy that requires medication the forms should be amended by the parent.
