Observation. Immunization status was not obtained for a volunteer.
Corrective action. The manager will obtain immunization status for the volunteer.

Observation. A criminal record check was not obtained for one volunteer.
Corrective action. The manager will obtain a criminal record check for the volunteer

Observation. A minimum of two character references were not obtained for one volunteer.

Corrective action. The manager moved the supplies to an inaccessible location

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (i) a photograph or digital image of the child, and other information that can be used to readily identify the child in an emergency.
Observation. Licensing reviewed children's records and found that 2 files did not have an image of the child
Corrective action. The manager said the images will be obtained

Observation. Upon inspection there was: -3 blind cords hanging down that posed a strangulation hazard -power bar and electrical outlets exposed -Large picture frames balanced on a shelf that posed a fall hazard in the event of an earthquake
Corrective action. Please ensure a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are in care.

A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. Upon inspection there was: -Grime and dirt on the door,walls and baseboards -loose closet door handle -drywall exposed
Corrective action. Please ensure the facility is kept clean and is in good repair.This is a repeat contravention.

A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Upon inspection there was Lysol disinfectant wipes accessible to the children in care.
Corrective action. Please ensure hazardous substances are not accessible to the children in care.

A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Upon inspection, there were 3 exposed electrical outlets accessible to the children.

11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. Upon inspection, there were multiple areas on the walls inside the facility that had spackling repair compound on it, accessible to the children, and areas along walls that were in need of a cleaning.There were also loose boards on the fence outside that were needing repair.This is a repeat contravention.
Corrective action. Please ensure the facility is clean and is in good repair while children are in attendance.
11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE
A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.
Observation. Upon inspection, there were no hand towels located in the washroom for the children to use.Licensee said that she always gives the children paper towels individually when they finish washing their hands.However, Licensing observed a child come out of the washroom unsupervised, who had not washed his hands at all.This is a repeat contravention.
Corrective action. Please ensure a system is established to ensure children are washing their hands and that hand towels are readily available.
15030 - CCLR s.46(1) - OR SUPERVISION
A licensee must ensure that children are supervised at all times by a person who is an educator, an assistant or a responsible adult.
Observation. Upon inspection, Licensing observed the Licensee leave 6 children in the front yard unsupervised while she entered the home.Licensing also observed the Licensee leaving children unattended while she assisted a child to eat inside the facility.
Corrective action. Please ensure children are supervised at all times while they are in care.
14060 - CCLR s.39(1) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation. Upon review of the attendance records, 5 children did not have departure times recorded.
Corrective action. Please ensure arrival and departure times are recorded.
