A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. - Protruding nails on fence in outdoor play area accessible - Tall shelf in play area not secured
Corrective action. Manager will remove the nails and cover the area with additional fencing and secure shelving to the wall

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.

- POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. Licensing observed the following for the emergency supplies kit: - all the food is expired - there is only one water bottle - there are no other emergency supplies in the kit The staff said that they will update the kits and ensure all supplies are there for each child/staff, enough for 72 hours.
Corrective action. Please ensure that there is a system in place to check emergency supplies kits.
13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation)
Observation. Licensing observed that the manager's certificate and staff's certificate have not been validated through the ECE registry.
Corrective action. Please ensure that each person's certificate is verified through the ECE registry.
