- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. Damaged couch in baby classroom Ripped shelf in JK4 classroom. Exposed drywall and scuff marks throughout the facility
Corrective action. The assistant manager said that a general maintanence plan will be developed
11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Plastic covers on mattresses were being used in baby nap room. The assistant manager said they were kept on the mattress to protect it from getting damaged.
Corrective action. The assistant manager removed the plastic covers upon inspection. The assistant manager will use mattresses according to the manufacturer's instructions.
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. Emergency supplies were insufficient for the amount of children and staff in the facility
Corrective action. The assistant manager said more supplies will be obtained.
13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility.
Observation. One child was missing a date of enrollment
Corrective action. The assistant manager will obtain the date of enrollment for the child

- A licensee must ensure that all indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are (b) safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair.
Observation. Bolts that hold the play structure in place present a risk to children due to limited space around the structure.
Corrective action. .
11190 - CCLR s.16(4)(b) - A licensee, other than a licensee who provides a care program described as either Preschool (30 Months to School Age) or Group Child Care (School Age), must have in a community care facility a sturdy surface for changing diapers, located outside the food preparation area, next to (b) a wash basin.
Observation. A sturdy surface for changing diapers was not provided for the two Group Child Care (30 Months to School Age) Programs.
Corrective action. Diaper change mats had been purchased for both Group Child Care (30 Months to School Age) Programs.
15015 - CCLR s.14(4)(b) - A licensee must ensure that the food and drink given to a child is sufficient in quantity and quality to meet the developmental needs of the child, having regard to (a) the child's age.
Observation. Food and drink were not provided in a quantity adequate for the age or development of children.
Corrective action. Licensing observed a sufficient quantity of food available to children during an inspection in August 2025.

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.
Observation. Bleach and cleaning supplies were observed in an unlocked door in the bathroom located in the hallway. Knives were located in drawers at children's height in the kitchen. Both rooms are accessible to children if they are in the hallway. The Manager said she will put door locks on the doors to become inaccessible to children if they are in the hallway.
Corrective action. Ensure that any hazardous object or substance is not accessible to children in care.
11200 - CCLR s.17 - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. A new outdoor play structure was observed in the GCC (30m- school age) playground, photos were taken and copies will be mailed to the facility. The structure is 59 inches tall and has astro turf under it. A conversation was had regarding the type and depth of resilient surface. There are 2 slides within close proximity to fences with one 30 inches from the fence and one 45 inches from the fence. A conversation was had regarding the Director of Licensing Standard of Practice Safe play space.
Corrective action. Ensure that the installation of equipment is in line with the Director of Licensing Standard of Practice Safe play space.
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - LICENSING
A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility the certificate, or a copy of the certificate, of any educator or assistant employed to work in the community care facility.
Observation. 2 of 12 staff working did not have their certificate posted
Corrective action. Ensure that a copy of the certificate is posted.
10070 - CCLR s.11(4) - MEDICATION
A licensee must ensure that a child's medication is not accessible to any child, except that a child may have access to his or her own medication if (a) the child's parent has instructed the licensee to permit this. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Medication was accessible to children in care. The medication was moved during the inspection.
16030 - CCLR s.53(2)(a) - STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.
Observation. 2 of 12 staff working did not have a criminal record check completed by the criminal record review program(CRRP). The Manager stated that she completed one through the RCMP and has applied through the CRRP.
Corrective action. Ensure that a criminal record through the CRRP is completed prior to the person working.
