- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. Licensing observed the following; - a tall umbrella metal stand in the outdoor play area. Potential to fall on a child and injure them - two cubbies not secured
Corrective action. A corrective action plan to be submitted to Licensing on how this contravention has been addressed.
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. Licensing observed the following; - couple of carpets covered in dirt - wear and tear on the walls throughout the facility.
Corrective action. A corrective action plan to be submitted to Licensing on how this contravention has been addressed.
11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that all indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are (b) safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair.
Observation. Licensing observed that the hula hoops are bent and broken.

11190 - CCLR s.16(4)(b) - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.
Observation. Licensing observed the following that are accessible to children; - a rusted nail head sticking out of the wooden table in the outdoor play area - a big bottle of dishwasher soap in an unlocked kitchen cupboard

11200 - CCLR s.17 - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (i) a photograph or digital image of the child, and other information that can be used to readily identify the child in an emergency.
Observation. Upon a review of three children's records, Licensing observed that one child's photograph or digital image was not obtained.
Corrective action. A corrective action plan to be submitted to Licensing on how this contravention has been addressed.
19160 - CCLR s.57(2)(i) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility.
Observation. Upon a random review of three children's records, Licensing observed that two children's date of enrollment was not recorded.
Corrective action. The Manager will record their date of enrollment.
19080 - CCLR s.57(2)(b) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation. Upon a review of 7 days of the attendance for the month of January 2026 Licensing observed the following; - 5 days that children's time of departure was not recorded - 1 day that children were not identified as absent
Corrective action. A corrective action plan to be submitted to Licensing on how this contravention has been addressed.
19090 - CCLR s.57(2)(c) - STAFFING
A licensee must ensure that each employee (c) practices implementing the emergency plan at least once each year.
Observation. Upon discussion with the Manager, Licensing determined that the emergency bag is not taken with the staff during the implementation of the emergency drill. However, part of the implementation of the evacuation plan, in the policies, is that a staff is to take the supplies bag with them.
Corrective action. A corrective action plan to be submitted to Licensing on how this contravention has been addressed.
12200 - CCLR s.22(2)(c) - STAFFING
The licensee must not permit a person over the age of 12 to be ordinarily present on the premises of a community care facility while children are present, unless the person is of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for that person.
Observation. A criminal record check for a person over the age of 12 who is ordinarily present is not available.
Corrective action. A corrective action plan to be submitted to Licensing on how this contravention has been addressed.

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.
Observation. Licensing measured the water temperature at 51 degrees Celsius. Licensing explained that the water temperature should be no more then 49 degrees Celsius.
Corrective action. A written response to be submitted to Licensing on how this contravention has been addressed.
11230 - CCLR s.47 - NUTRITION AND FOOD SERVICES
A licensee must make available to parents information on the food and drink given to children.
Observation. Licensing observed that snacks are provided to children in care, however, parents are not informed of the food and drink provided to the children.
Corrective action. The Manager will inform parents with a weekly menu.
17120 - CCLR s.48(6) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation. Upon a review of the attendance records for the month of January 2025, Licensing observed that there were seven days that children were not identified as absent. Licensing discussed the importance of ensuring that the attendance are accurate daily.
Corrective action. The Manager will ensure that children who are absent are recorded as absent.
19090 - CCLR s.57(2)(c) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (a) the diagnoses relevant to the child's requirement for extra support, as made by health care professionals.
Observation. Licensing observed a child in care with several allergies and allergic reaction listed. However there is no care plan available for a child requiring extra support. Licensing discussed what the care plan should included and that it should be reviewed at least once a year,
Corrective action. A written response to be submitted to Licensing on how this contravention has been addressed.
19210 - CCLR s.58(1)(a) - STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (b) character references in respect of the person.
Observation. Upon a review of three staff records, Licensing observed that references for one staff were not obtained. Licensing discussed what would meet the intent of this regulation.
Corrective action. A written response to be submitted to Licensing on how this contravention has been addressed.
