Observation. A care plan documenting strategies used by staff to support a child was not available.
Corrective action. The licensee will ensure all strategies used to support the child are written down.
19220 - CCLR s.58(1)(b) - A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (f) a log of minor accidents, illnesses and unexpected events involving children, that did not require medical attention and were not reportable incidents described in Schedule H.
Observation. Records of four incidents that took place between February 18 and June 3, 2025, were not available.
Corrective action. The licensee stated staff training will take place on Jun 16, 2025, to ensure all staff know what types of incidents must be recorded in the minor log book.

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. Children's beds and bedding were touching each other. To reduce the risk of infection beds and bedding must be kept separate.
Corrective action. The manger will ensure that sheets and blankets are not touching
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - OR SUPERVISION
Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (b) the ratio of employees to children attending a community care facility is no less than that permitted in Schedule E.
Observation. An ITE staff is not scheduled to work in the Group Child Care (Under 36 months) at all times.
Corrective action. The manger will ensure and ITE is scheduled at all times in the program.
14030 - CCLR s.34(2)(b) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (b) the courses of action recommended by health care professionals to address the needs of the child requiring extra support.
Observation. A care plan does not include the course of action recommended by health care professionals for a child requiring additional support.
Corrective action. The manager will ensure all care plans include actions required by staff.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.
Observation. Immunization status was not obtained for two staff.
Corrective action. The manager will ensure immunization status is available for all staff.

A licensee must ensure that all indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are (b) safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair.
Observation. Bark mulch in the outdoor play area does not meet the depth requirements as outlined in the Director of Licensing Standards of Practice Safe Play Spaces.
Corrective action. The manager stated more bark mulch will be added to the playground within the next four weeks.
11190 - CCLR s.16(4)(b) - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. The fridge temperature in the Group Child Care (Under 36 months) was 7.8C. To ensure safe storage of food the fridge temperature needs to be between 0-4c
Corrective action. The manager will ensure the fridge temperature is between 0-4c

A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility both the licence, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and the name of the manager.
Observation. The name of the manger is not posted.
Corrective action. The manger will post her name in prominent places in the facility.
10050 - CCLR s.11(1) - STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (b) character references in respect of the person.
Observation. Evidence of references being checked were not available for one staff. The manager stated references had been checked.
Corrective action. The manger will ensure that evidence of references will be available for all staff.

Observation. An epi pen required by one child was not at the facility.
Corrective action. Please ensure that if a child requires an epi pen it is available at the facility.
16020 - CCLR s.53(1)(b) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (b) the courses of action recommended by health care professionals to address the needs of the child requiring extra support.
Observation. An epi pen for one child has expired.
Corrective action. Please ensure an epi pen with a current expiration ate is available to meet the needs of the child requiring extra support.
19220 - CCLR s.58(1)(b) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
The licensee must (a) develop the care plan in consultation with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.
Observation. A care plan had not been developed in consultation with the parent or any person requested by the parent for two children. .
Corrective action. Please ensure a care plan is available for all children with additional needs.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.
