    A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

    Observation. Upon inspection the following was observed: - chipped and peeling paint in classrooms, bathrooms and hallways - cracked tiles in two bathrooms - a broken door to one classroom

    Corrective action. The manager advised all areas will be addressed by their maintenance staff.

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. -One shelf in the gym preschool area was visibly soiled. (corrected during inspection) -One wall in the chapel had drywall removed and one piece of trim removed, exposing nails, which are accessible to children -One door to the exit of the chapel had a hole. -Soiled patch in the chapel appeared damaged. Manager stated there had been a leak in the roof, which will be repaired over a few days. Manager will provide a plan for repair. -One shelf in the bathroom was unanchored to the wall, with items stored on top, providing danger of falling on children. -One shelf on wheels with fish tank stored on top shelf was unanchored. -One shelf with microwave, and kettle stored on top was unanchored. (corrected during inspection)

    Corrective action. Please ensure a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    If a licensee has agreed with a parent to give a child any medication prescribed by a medical practitioner or provided by the parent, the licensee and his or her employees must ensure that the medication is (b) readily accessible to employees. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): One classroom had storage of expired medication, with no medical consent forms. Manager removed these, as the child no longer attends the facility.(corrected during inspection). One child's inhaler was located in another classroom from where the care plan was located, and where they were being cared for at the time. (Corrected during inspection)
