    Observation. The following was observed at the time of the inspection and review with the Licensee; - smoke detector not operational in the nap room - blind cords accessible in the nap room - fridge used to store children's lunch kits requires cleaning - cleaning and sanitizing of eating surfaces not effective - diaper change table mat requires cleaning

    Observation. The following items were observed at the time of the inspection; - fridge thermometer not available for safe storage of perishable food items - the resilient surfacing under the swing set not sufficient in the event of a fall - wear, tear and damaged walls within the facility - damaged blind with cords accessible to the children in care - tarp exposed on the outdoor play area posses a risk of tripping hazard The LO reviewed all of these items with the Licensee in depth.

    Corrective action. Ensure a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times.

    A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.

    Observation. -A container of paint and a bottle of detergent in a closet with a broken lock, accessible to children in care. -A bottle of dish soap accessible in an unlocked cupboard, accessible to children. -Spaces around cribs are being for storage and at time of inspection, a plastic rain cover was stored next to the crib while the crib was occupied by a child. This is a repeat contravention.

    Corrective action. Ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous health and safety.

    Observation. The facility, staff and children were not equipped to engage in daily, consistent outdoor play.

    Corrective action. Ensure daily outdoor play time is provided to each child unless weather conditions make it unreasonable to do so.

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. At the inspection the Manager pointed out that the gutters around the house was falling/hanging loose which poses a risk to the children and parents coming and going. The water is penetrating the windows and roof from the broken gutters, the Manager had someone temporarily secure the gutters and acknowledges that it is in need of repairs and is obtaining estimates.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that a safe environment is provided to children while in care.
