- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. The following were observed. In the Group Child Care (30 months to school age) program the fridge needs cleaning, foam is exposed on multiple nap mats, a circle mat needs cleaning and is starting to curl at the edges and walls throughout the program room are in need of cleaning. In the Group Child Care (School Age) program walls throughout the program room are in need of cleaning, there is a broken electrical cover plate, a light bulb has not cover, blinds on one window have holes in them and a baseboard heater needs cleaning and painting.
Corrective action. The manager will ensure all areas of the facility are clean and in good repair.
11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - LICENSING
A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility the certificate, or a copy of the certificate, of any educator or assistant employed to work in the community care facility.
Observation. ECE and ECEA certificates were not posted for any staff.
Corrective action. The manager will post all ECE and ECEA certificates.
10070 - CCLR s.11(4) - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. The emergency evacuation kit does not have enough food, water and emergency supplies for all children for up to 72 hours. Some of the food and water in the kit have passed the expiry date.
Corrective action. The manager will ensure that there are sufficient emergency supplies for all children in the facility for up to 72 hours.
13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility.
Observation. Fifteen files were reviewed. A start date was missing in 11 files. This is repeat noncompliance
Corrective action. The manager will ensure that all children's files have a start date.
19080 - CCLR s.57(2)(b) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Observation. Fifteen files were reviewed. contact information for a doctor or medical clinic was missing in seven files and information for an emergency contact person was missing in eight files. This is repeat noncompliance
Corrective action. The manger will en sure contact information for a doctor or medical clinic and an emergency contact is available in all files.
19100 - CCLR s.57(2)(d) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
In respect of a record referred to in this Division, a licensee must (c) produce records, on demand, to the medical health officer.
Observation. Two staff files were not available for inspection. The manager stated that they were not at the facility as they were being updated.
Corrective action. The manager will ensure that staff files are kept on site and are available for inspection.

19090 - CCLR s.57(2)(c) - Despite this section, during the half hour before a care program begins and the half hour after a care program ends, a licensee may permit children who would otherwise be grouped in different care programs, and who are arriving at or leaving the community care facility, to be grouped together and supervised other than as required under Schedule E if (b) a total of 8 or fewer children are present at the community care facility, of whom no more than 3 are younger than 36 months old.
Observation. The 30 Months to School Age program and the School Age programs were combined for a day in September.
Corrective action. The licensee will provide a corrective action plan to address the contravention.
