  Observation. The Group Child Care (30 Months to School Age) program exceeded it approved maximum capacity on a day in July.

  Corrective action. The licensee must ensure the facility does not exceed its maximum capacity.

• STAFFING

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.

  Observation. A Criminal Record Check from the Criminal Records Review Program (CRRP) was not obtained for one staff. A CRC from the RCMP was available in their file; Licensing reviewed the CRC requirements with the Manager.

  Corrective action. The Manager will apply for a CRC for the staff from the CRRP.

  Observation. A child's EpiPen was expired in February 2023. The staff said that they will ask the parents to provide a new EpiPen.

  Corrective action. Please ensure that children's medication is not expired.

• STAFFING

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry.   Observation. One staff file did not have their current ECE certificate validated.

  Corrective action. Please ensure ECE/A certificates are validated by the system maintained by the ECE Registry.

  A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility both the licence, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and the name of the manager.

  Observation. The manager's name was not displayed in a prominent place.

  Corrective action. Please post the manager's name in a prominent place in the facility.

  The licensee must (a) develop the care plan in consultation with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.

  Observation. There was no care plan developed in consultation with a parent of the child requiring extra support available for a child with allergies.

  Corrective action. Please ensure a care plan is developed in consultation with the parent of a child requiring extra support.

  A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (a) the diagnoses relevant to the child's requirement for extra support, as made by health care professionals.

  Observation. A current care plan with diagnoses relevant to the child's requirement for extra support as made by health care professionals was not available for a child with allergies.

  Corrective action. Please ensure any child with allergies has a current care plan with diagnoses relevant to the child's requirement for extra support as made by health care professionals.
