- Despite this section, during the half hour before a care program begins and the half hour after a care program ends, a licensee may permit children who would otherwise be grouped in different care programs, and who are arriving at or leaving the community care facility, to be grouped together and supervised other than as required under Schedule E if (a) the care program is described as Multi-Age Child Care, Group Child Care (Under 36 Months), Group Child Care (30 Months to School Age) or Group Child Care (School Age).
Observation. A child over the age of 36 months was attending the Under 36 Months program.
Corrective action. The licensee will provide a corrective action plan to address the contravention.
12280 - CCLR s.34(4)(a) - A licensee must ensure that a child, while under the care or supervision of the licensee, is not subjected to any of the following: (b) confinement or physical restraint by an employee, except as authorized in a child care's plan if the care plan includes instructions respecting behavioural guidance.
Observation. Staff were restraining a child in a highchair daily on multiple occasions.
Corrective action. The licensee will provide a corrective action plan to address the contravention.

A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. There was no record of fire drills being completed
Corrective action. The manager said they will begin doing fire drills this month

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.
Observation. 2 files did not have Criminal Record checks and 1 file did not have a site-specific Criminal Record check
Corrective action. The Director said she has applied for the 2 missing criminal record checks but has not received them yet.
