  Observation. Licensing audited six staff files. Two files were missing a valid criminal record check. One staff had a criminal record check that had expired in March 2026.

  Corrective action. Ensure licensee must not employ a person without a criminal record check for the person.

  Observation. Licensing observed the following in the outdoor yard that is used by the preschool aged children: lock was broken on the gate, a board was missing in the fence creating a space that a child could fit through, rust spots were visible in some areas of the climber with slide and some spots had rust chipping.

  Corrective action. Ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health and safety of a child.

  Observation.   Observation. Licensing reviewed six staff files. One file was missing a criminal record check. There was an RCMP check on file and manager stated the Criminal Record Check through the Criminal Record Review Program had been applied for.

  Corrective action. Ensure licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless they have first met with the person and obtained a criminal record check in respect of the person.

• A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure

  Observation. Licensing reviewed attendance records for April 2024 until the date of inspection and observed in room three, operating as either Group Child Care (30 Month to School Age) or Preschool (30 Month to School), 38 times that the daily departure time had not been recorded.

  Corrective action. Ensure a Licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

• A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a)name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number (MSP number does not apply to REC only) and immunization status.

  Observation. Licensing reviewed eight staff files and observed two files missing record of immunizations and/or immunization status and one file missing a Medical Services Plan Number.

  Corrective action. Ensure to keep for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.

  Observation. Licensing observed no early childhood educator available for Group Child Care (30 Month to school Age) and no early childhood educator available for Preschool (30 Month to School Age); Licensing observed an expired staffing exemption and no staffing exemption application was on file for either classroom.

  Corrective action. Ensure that the ratio of employees to children attending the community care facility is no less than permitted in Schedule E.

• A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a)name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number (MSP number does not apply to REC only) and immunization status.

  Observation. Licensing reviewed 7 child files and observed four files missing record of immunizations and one file missing a medical services plan number.

  Corrective action. Ensure to keep a record showing the following information: Name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status for each child in care.

• A licensee must do all of the following:(b) operate the community care facility in a manner that will promote the health, safety and dignity of persons in care

  Observation. Licensing observed no two minute flush chart being maintained that indicated that the corrective action plan accepted by Licensing, was being implemented to conduct a two minute water flush daily, in order to mitigate the risk of the facility water testing higher than the allowable maximum concentrate of lead in water. Licensing observed the Manager state that the facility only utilizes bottled water and that a new corrective action plan for the use of bottled water only will be submitted to Licensing. Licensing also observed multiple jugs of bottled water and a water dispenser machine.

  Corrective action. Ensure to operate the community care facility in a manner that will promote the health, safety and dignity of persons in care.

  Observation. Licensing reviewed 8 staff files and observed 5 files missing immunization records or status.

  Observation. Licensing observed no record of a February 2022 fre drill and no record of a once yearly emergency drill having been recorded on the facility fire and emergency drill record log.

  Corrective action. Ensure a Licensee keeps current records each of the following respecting 22(2)(c) 22(2)(b).

  Observation. Licensing reviewed 8 children's files and observed 3 files missing record of repayment agreement; the parent registration and policies handbook containing the repayment agreement had not been signed by a parent.

  Observation. Licensing reviewed attendance records in the Group Child Care (Under 36 Months) classroom and the Group Child Care ((30 Months to School Age) classroom and observed 29 missing departure times.

  Corrective action. Ensure a Licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

  Observation. Licensing observed the outdoor play space checklist log had not been utilized. Staff state that outdoor play space checks are being conducted but staff are not recording the daily checks on the log.

  Corrective action. Ensure that a log is kept of all inspections, maintenance & repairs.
