    Observation. The food and water in the emergency bag expired in 2020, 2021, or 2022. There is currently soup mix available with no expiration date, however, the water to use while cooking was expired and the equipment to cook the soup was not present.

    Corrective action. Ensure that the materials to respond to and recover from an emergency are available.

    A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

    Observation. Upon arrival to the program the floor in the room was visibly dirty with food scraps, and tissue on the floor.

    Corrective action. Ensure that the community care facility is clean and in good repair.

    Observation. A container of liquid Lysol was accessible to children on the bathroom counter.

    Observation. The last recorded fire drill was November 2020. The staff member on site stated that a fire drill was not conducted in December. The staff member also stated that a drill was conducted in January but it was not recorded.

    Corrective action. Practise and document fire drills monthly.
