Observation. Licensing reviewed four children's files. Immunization status was not obtained for two of these children.
Corrective action. The facility will ensure that children's files are complete.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.
Observation. Licensing reviewed three staff files. Immunization status was not obtained for one or more employees.
Corrective action. The facility will ensure staff files are complete.

Observation. 3 Staff files were reviewed, one Criminal Record Check on file is not site specific.
Corrective action. Ensure all staff files contain a site specific CRC issued from the Branch in Victoria- discussed sharing form.

Observation. Criminal Record Check on file is not site specific for one staff.There was an RCMP check on file, however, this doesn't meet the intent of the legislation.
Corrective action. Ensure all staff have a valid CRC issued from the Criminal Records Review Branch in Victoria on file prior to working with children.

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.
Observation. Licensing observed the following; - a basket of spray sunscreen located on a low shelf by the front door - a kettle with water was plugged in by the classroom sink (although the water was not hot, it should be emptied and put away prior to children arriving at the facility).
Corrective action. Ensure all hazardous items are in accessible to children in care.
11200 - CCLR s.17 - LICENSING
A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility both the licence, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and the name of the manager.
Observation. The new manager's name was not posted in a prominent spot.
Corrective action. Please ensure all staff and parents are aware of the new manager by posting their name.
10050 - CCLR s.11(1) - LICENSING
A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility the certificate, or a copy of the certificate, of any educator or assistant employed to work in the community care facility.
Observation. One staff's certificate was not posted and a number of the ones that are posted are printed so small that they are illegible.
Corrective action. Please ensure certificates are posted and legible.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (c) a record of the person's work history.
Observation. A record of the person's work history was not obtained 2 employees.
Corrective action. Please ensure all required documentation is on file prior to working on site.

Corrective action. Please ensure immunization status (including the new Covid 19 vaccine) is on file prior to employees working.

(Educator or assistant certificate validation)
Observation. 1 out of the 3 staff files reviewed did not have evidence that the certificates have been verified on the ECE Registry Website
Corrective action. Ensure all certificates are validated as required.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.
Observation. 3 out of 3 staff files reviewed do not have Criminal Record Checks (CRC) on File.
Corrective action. Criminal record checks must be on file prior to employees starting employment.
