- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. The following were observed during today's inspection. -IT classroom 5 has 3 floor carpets that are visibly dirty. There were 2 toys baskets on top of play kitchen that is posing a risk of toys falling off it. - IT classroom #8 has bleach bottle and cleaning spray accessible to children. A tablet charging that was plugged on top of the cubbies was hanging at child's level.

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.
Observation. The following items were accessible to children at the time of today's inspection. -Beach bottle in 3-5 years old classroom -plastic bags in 3-5 years old classroom -Mop buckets are stored in the washrooms
Corrective action. Manager will provide a written response regrading corrective action plan.
11200 - CCLR s.17 - HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE
A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.
Observation. There was no space between children's bedding in the IT nap room.
Corrective action. Manager will revise the systems in the nap room to ensure that there is safe gap between children bedding to avoid cross contamination of germs.
15030 - CCLR s.46(1) - STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.
Observation. CRC not obtained from one employee.
Corrective action. Manager said that staff is waiting for her copy of CRC.
12040 - CCLR s.19(1)(a)

- A licensee must notify the medical health officer within 24 hours after (a) a child is involved in, or may have been involved in, a reportable incident described in Schedule H while under the care or supervision of the licensee.
Observation. The facility was made aware of a child's visit to the emergency room on October 25, 2024; however, licensing was not notified that a child was involved in a reportable incident until October 31, 2024.
Corrective action. Please ensure to notify licensing within 24 hours of a reportable incident.
19030 - CCLR s.55(2)(a) - A licensee must immediately notify a parent or emergency contact if, while under the care or supervision of the licensee, the child (a) becomes ill or is injured.(1.1) In the case of a licensee who provides a care program described as Child-minding, the parent to be notified under subsection (1) is the parent who is on the premises on which the child-minding service operates.
Observation. Parent was not notified immediately after staff observed that a child was not feeling well.
Corrective action. Please ensure that parent of a child is notified immediately if a child becomes sick while under the care of licensee.

Observation. One staff has her ECEA certificate expired over 30 days. No exemption or staffing plan was approved from Licensing.
Corrective action. Please ensure that staff to child ration is no less than that is permitted in Schedule E.

Observation. A staff cut a child's front hair without parent consent. The Manager said that Staff was assuming that child's hair were covering his eyes and making him uncomfortable. Licensing determined that Staff actions posed risk to child's safety and dignity.
Corrective action. Licensee must operate the community care facility in a manner that will promote the health, safety and dignity of children in care.

Corrective action. Ensure fire extinguishers are serviced annually.

Observation. Licensing reviewed six staff files. Three criminal record checks on file are not site specific.
Corrective action. Ensure all staff files are complete.
