  A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (a) the diagnoses relevant to the child's requirement for extra support, as made by health care professionals.

  Observation. No care plan available for any children extra support.

  Corrective action. Ensure that care plans are created and staff are aware of their locations for any child who requires extra support.

• STAFFING

  A licensee must ensure that each employee (a) is trained in the implementation of the fire drill system and emergency plan described in subsection (1), including the use of any equipment noted in the fire drill system and emergency plan.

  Observation. Staff were not clear of the emergency plan, how to access the supplies and where to go if they could not return inside the facility. Staff were unable to locate the emergency plan if they can not return to facility.

  Corrective action. Ensure that all staff are trained and implement the emergency drill at least once per year.

• LICENSING

  A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility both the licence, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and the name of the manager.

  Observation. The name of the manager was not posted at the time of the inspection. The LO reviewed this item with the manager prior to this report being delivered.

  Corrective action. Ensure the name of the manager is posted in a prominent place or near the Community Care Facility License.

• POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

  A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

  Observation. The fire extinguisher in the licensed space was tagged as expired.

  Corrective action. Ensure procedures to prepare for responding to an emergency are in place which includes serviced fire extinguishers.

• STAFFING

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (d) copies of any diplomas, certificates or other evidence of the person's training and skills.

  Observation. Three staff file records were reviewed and one staff did not have evidence of training that is relevant to the role in place.

  Corrective action. Ensure all staff files on site or off are complete including evidence of training and skills.

• STAFFING

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.

  Observation. Three staff file records were reviewed and one staff working in the program at the time of the inspection did not have a CRC accessible.

  Corrective action. Ensure staff files are complete on site or off including CRC status.
