    Observation. Licensing observed that there is a tall cupboard with drawers that is not secured to the wall.

    Observation. Licensing observed that the attendance record does not clearly identify the time of departure for children in care. Licensing provided education on the importance of identifying both the time of arrival and departure for each child. This is a repeat contravention.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that attendance records are accurate on a daily basis.

    A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.

    Observation. Upon a random review of 3 out of 12 children's records Licensing observed 1 child's record missing medical insurance plan number.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that children's records are complete prior to the child attending the facility.

    Observation. Licensing observed that there is an attendance record available however, it does not indicate the time of arrival and departure for each child. The attendance record only indicates if a child is present or absent. Licensing provided education on having attendance records that clearly identifies the time a child arrives and leaves the facility. Licensing further explained that is it s the responsibility of the Licensee to ensure that this information is recorded. This is a repeat contravention.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that attendance records are accurate on a daily basis, indicating for each child whether the child absent, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure .

  • RECORDS AND REPORTING

    A licensee must do all of the following: (b) operate the community care facility in a manner that will promote (i) the health, safety and dignity of persons in care,

    Observation. Licensing observed that there were DIN # products in the first aid kit. Upon discussion with the staff Licensing observed that the DIN # products are used on children to clean their wounds. Licensing provided education that when products have a DIN# on the package it means that there are/is medical ingredients in it. If the staff choose to use it on children then parent consent will need to be acquired. Licensing explained that the best way to clean wounds is with soap and water.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that the facility operates in a manner that will promote the health, safety and dignity of persons in care.
