Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (b) the ratio of employees to children attending a community care facility is no less than that permitted in Schedule E.
Observation. Licensing observed 10 children in care with one educator. The second educator came shortly after.
Corrective action. The licensee must ensure that staff to child ratio is met at all times.
14030 - CCLR s.34(2)(b) - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. Licensing observed that the emergency supplies kit requires more food/water for each child and staff, enough for up to 72 hours.
Corrective action. The staff said they will make sure more food/water is added to the kit.

Observation. It was observed that on four different days in the month of September 2023, there were 9 or 10 children in attendance with one Early Childhood Educator.
Corrective action. Please ensure that staff and child ratio meets the requirements as stated in Schedule E.

A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility the certificate, or a copy of the certificate, of any educator or assistant employed to work in the community care facility. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): There are 3 to 4 staff that may work in the facility at different times. One staff's ECE certificate is not posted in the facility.
Corrective action. Please ensure that any staff that hold a certificate issued by the ECE Registry is posted in the facility.
