- RECORDS AND REPORTING
The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing noted one child's care plan was not dated, which is required for the purposes of annual review.
Corrective action. Ensure all care plan are dated so that annual review is possible.
19260 - CCLR s.58(2)(b) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
The licensee must (a) develop the care plan in consultation with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.
Observation. A child who requires an Epi Pen on site does not have a care plan developed in consultation with the parent or any person requested by the parent. Licensing notes that although a care plan was not present, the facility did have permission to administer medication.
Corrective action. Ensure that care plans are developed in consultation with parents/persons requested for children who require extra support.
19250 - CCLR s.58(2)(a) - STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation)
Observation. Licensing inspected two staff files and noted that one did not have evidence of ECE certificate validation.
Corrective action. Ensure all staff certificates are validated using the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry and that there is evidence of said validation.
