    Observation. Of the four staff files reviewed, one did not contain certificate validation.

    Corrective action. The manager said she will obtain certificate validation for the employee.

    Observation. -One staff member's certificate was not posted. -One staff member's posted certificate was expired. The staff member said that their new certificate was in their possession but no on site.

    Corrective action. Ensure staff certificates are posted.

    A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed: -A hot kettle on the kitchen counter accessible by children. -Bleach bottle in an unlocked cupboard under the sink.

    Corrective action. Ensure children do not have access to any object or substance which may be hazardous to their health or safety.

    A licensee must supply equipment, furniture and supplies that are (b) located so as not to block or hamper an exit in the case of fire or other emergency.

    Observation. Licensing observed that rain boot storage and a shelf were impeding the emergency exit in one of the classrooms. A discussion was had around why the location of the shelf and boots may impede exit during an emergency.

    Corrective action. Ensure all emergency exits completely clear at all times.

    A licensee must have all of the following: (b) an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

    Observation. The fire extinguishers in the program have expired tags affixed to them. LO reviewed this item with the manager and staff during the inspection. This is a repeat contravention.

    Corrective action. Ensure equipment used to respond and recover from an emergency is serviced and maintained yearly.
