Observation. Licensing observed that in both the toddler and infant rooms, a circular cut-out has been made in the plexiglass material to accommodate the air conditioner hose connected to the window. The edges of the cut-out are sharp and not smooth, and the opening is accessible to children. This poses a potential safety risk, including possible cuts from the sharp edges and an entrapment hazard should a child place their head or another body part through the opening. Licensing observed in the toddler room that staff were bleaching the potty toilet seats and quickly wiping it down right after, without allowing the bleach solution to remain on the surface for an adequate amount of time to properly disinfect. A discussion was held with the senior staff regarding the importance of allowing the bleach-water solution to remain on the surface for at least two minutes to ensure proper disinfection.
