    Staff ratios and group sizes comply with Schedule E. [CCLR Sec. 34(2)(a)]

    Observation. LO noted in the infant room were schedule two ECE and no IT staff. The manager stated that one of the ECE just completed the IT training and submitted records to ECE Registry. No exemption was in place and the manager was not aware that the staff is not being considered as a qualified IT without the certificate from ECE Registry and /or with an approved staffing exemption by licensing.

    There is an established program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene. [CCLR Sec. 46(1)]

    Observation. LO noted that the sink in the infant's bathroom had some large containers stored in. When LO asked the staff if the children washed their hands as they were ready to eat lunch the staff stated that they wiped the children hands with wet cloth wipes. At the LO request the staff took children to the bathroom to wash their hands prior eating lunch.

    The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

    Observation. LO noted debris around and behind the small fridges in several rooms.

  • PHYSICAL, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHING / Play Area, Materials and EquipmentNon-critical

    The entire outdoor play area is enclosed and constructed in a manner that is suitable for the age and development of children, and ensures that children are free of harm. [CCLR Sec. 16(3)(a)(b)]

    Observation. LO noted debris on the ground on the playground.

    For each child requiring extra support, the licensee keeps a current care plan showing the required information. [CCLR Sec. 58(1)(2)]

    Observation. LO noted a care plan for child was not reviewed yearly with the child's family.

    Implementation of the fire drill system is practiced at least once each month, and implementation of the emergency plan is practiced at least once each year. [CCLR Sec. 22(2)(b)(c)]

    Observation. The fire drills were up to date and records noted. The emergency plan was not practiced as was requested and noted in the last routine inspection report. This had been noted on the last routine inspection in 2024:"The emergency plan must be practiced by the end of the year of 2024 and a record maintained. Licensing suggested to new manager to get familiar with the facility procedures and practice additional emergency drills to ensure everyone is aware of the procedure". The manager was not aware of the procedure. LO recommended the manager to review the facilities policies and procedures for emergency plan.

    Observation. Licensing observed a shelf in the nap room was not appropriately mounted to the wall and two screws were loose.

    Observation. Licensing officer noted visible debris and stains were present on the rugs. The windows and vinyl floor require cleaning.

    Observation. Licensing officer noted the resilient surface requires repairs. Gaps\holes were formed between the rubber outdoor tiles which represent a hazard for tripping.
