Observation. Licensing observed that the fire drill for the month of May was not practiced. This is a repeat contravention from 2024.
Corrective action. Ensure fire drills are practiced monthly.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation. During inspection licensing noted that on one day in May attendance was not available. This is a repeat contravention from 2022.
Corrective action. Licensee will ensure she signs all the children in and out daily.

A licensee must ensure that each employee (b) practices implementing the fire drill system at least once each month.
Observation. During the routine inspection licensee noted that the inspection for the month of May was not marked. Licensee said that they have conducted the fire drill but have forgot to mark it on their paper.
Corrective action. Licensee will mark the inspection on the sheet they have in their binder.

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must supply equipment, furniture and supplies that are (a) of sturdy and safe construction, easy to clean and free from hazards.
Observation. At the time of this inspection items were stored on higher shelving in areas that children access.
Corrective action. Ensure any heavier items are relocated to prevent items from accidentally falling - e.g. during potential earthquake.
11080 - CCLR s.15(1)(a) - STAFFING
The licensee must not permit a person over the age of 12 to be ordinarily present on the premises of a community care facility while children are present, unless the person is of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for that person.
Observation. At the time of this inspection, it was noted that a criminal record clearance is needed for a person who is 12 years old. Licensee indicated that this person is not present in the daycare during daycare hours.
Corrective action. Ensure a criminal record clearance is completed.
