Observation. The following were observed: - Stairs by the front entrance: large pieces of cement were missing - Multiple paint chips around the facility - Swing in the playground has rips
Corrective action. Assistant manager said she will have someone to come in to fix the above mentioned items and ensure the facility is in good repair and clean.

A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. Upon inspection there was a loose cord on the wall next to a crib in the infant nap room that could pose a strangulation hazard.
Corrective action. The manager advised the cord will be fastened to the wall prior to a child napping in the crib next to the cord.

A licensee must do all of the following: (b) operate the community care facility in a manner that will promote (i) the health, safety and dignity of persons in care,
Observation. Upon inspection there was expired medication for a child in the Group Child Care 30 months to School Age class. There was also no written documentation guiding staff as to when it is required to be taken.
Corrective action. Ensure medication is not expired and there are instructions to guide staff.

Observation. Upon inspection there are 7 children in the toddler room who turned 3 between September 2024 and January 2025.
Corrective action. The manager advised she is going to apply for a temporary retention from licensing.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed cleaning supplies within the reach of children next to a sink in the 3-5 bathroom and on a table in the toddler room. A staff removed these items during the inspection.

A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Upon inspection there was: -A heater on the counter (that was hot to touch) with a cord accessible to the children that posed a burn/fall hazard if a child pulled it down. -The washroom door was open in the Infant room leaving the toilet accessible to the infants that posed a drowning hazard.The garbage in the washroom was not covered and accessible to the infants also. -In the hallway,within close proximity to the children's cubbies a door was open giving children access to the storage room that had tools and building paint stored.
Corrective action. Please ensure a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are in care.

Observation. Upon speaking to staff, Licensing found that there was no Infant and Toddler educator on the premise between 7-11am while the infant program was in session, with children attending.
