• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

  Observation. Toys, cleaning products such as mop, broom and Lysol were observed tin one of the toilet stalls between classroom 5 and 6. Other rooms were also using a toilet stall to store items such as brooms. Chairs were stacked in multiple classrooms with the potential to fall on children. Storage items were stacked about 3 feet high in one of the infant toddler rooms with the potential to fall on children.

  Corrective action. Ensure a healthy and safety environment by ensuring that the washrooms are accessible to children in care, cleaning products are stored out of reach of children, and equipment such as chairs are readily available for children's use.

• OR SUPERVISION

  Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (b) the ratio of employees to children attending a community care facility is no less than that permitted in Schedule E.

  Observation. There is no infant toddler educator scheduled to work in Class 6 from 3:30-5:15pm daily. There is no early childhood educator scheduled to work in Class 4 from 4:45- 5pm daily.

  Corrective action. Ensure that the staff to child ratio is no less than permitted in Schedule E. Please send written plan outlining how you are going to maintain qualified staff to child ratio

• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must supply equipment, furniture and supplies that are (b) located so as not to block or hamper an exit in the case of fire or other emergency. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Chairs were stored blocking an emergency exit. The Manager moved them out of the way to not block emergency exit during the inspection.
