  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation)

  Observation. One certificate did not have evidence it was verified but the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry

  Corrective action. Ensure each certificate is verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry

• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

  Observation. The following was observed: - a blind cord was observed hanging down with a potential for a child to access it. -a large storage shelf was not secured in one of the bathrooms with boxes of materials stored in it. There is a potential for it to tip. -Emergency supplies including food was stored in the bathroom.

  Corrective action. Please provide Licensing a written response outlining how you have addressed the above concerns to ensure a healthy and safe environment.

  Observation. Licensing observed a toy shelf in house keeping play area that was wobbly and needs to be secured.

  Corrective action. Ensure a healthy and safe environment to be provided to children at all times while in care.
