    A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

    Observation. The emergency plan was not available for review, the Manager said that she has not gone to their alternate location and does not know where that location is. The emergency equipment to respond to and recover from an emergency was not sufficient for the number of children and staff at the facility.

    Corrective action. Ensure that there is an emergency plan that sets out procedures to respond and recover from any emergency.

    A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

    Observation. One of 2 playpens used by children is not in good repair and the side does not fully open and latch. There is a concern that a child could be injured when the play pen is not fully open.

    Corrective action. Ensure that the furniture and equipment is in good repair.
