Observation. Licensee stated a Ford passenger van had been purchased and that 12 children were being transported to activities with one ECE and one ECEA. This was not following an approved Corrective Action Plan dated July 14, 2023 that stated that Licensee will be transporting all children to outings.

3080 - CCALA 7(1)(b)(i) - Applicants for licences and licensees must notify a medical health officer immediately of any change in the information provided under section 9
Observation. Licensing observed an Educator transfer between two residences [both licenced community care facilities] by way of a door that connected one licenced facility to the second facility at time of inspection. Licensing reviewed a plan, received on August 8, 2023, was not being followed, which indicated both licenced community care facilities would be physically separated [separate legal addresses] and a door that connected the two residences allowing common access would remain locked and physically separated at all times.
3070 - CCLR 10(1) - Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that the ratio of employees to children attending a community care facility is no less than that permitted in Schedule E.
Observation. Licensing observed that the ECE working at this facility left the program through a door that connects 940 and 938 Walfred Road, switching with the ECEA that was working at another facility and not ensuring staff to child ratio was maintained as an ECE is required in the Mutli Age Child Care category of care.
Corrective action. Ensure staff to child ratio is maintained as permitted in Schedule E.

This is an immediate risk to the health and safety of children in care and must be corrected immediately. Licensee turned off the hot water.
Corrective action. Ensure children do not have access to water that is heated more than 49 degrees Celsius.
