    Observation. Through the investigation process, Licensing determined the staff to child ratios had not been maintained in the Group Child Care (Under 36 Months) program.

    Corrective action. Ensure that the ratio of employees to children attending a community care facility is no less than permitted in Schedule E. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On June 4 and 8, 2026, the Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included: An Early Childhood Educator had been hired to work alongside the Infant and Toddler Educator in the Group Child Care (Under 36 Months) program. Additionally, the Licensee had reviewed section 34(3)(b) related to bumping up staff when absent to ensure a clear understanding. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing.

The corrective action plan included: a revised behavioural guidance policy had been created and reviewed by all staff. Additionally performance reviews would be completed in July 2026 then annually going forward, monthly staff meetings would be held, and staff check-in's would be conducted monthly and documented. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing.
