  Observation. Eight children's records reviewed. One child did not have medical practitioner information on file.

  Observation. Eight children's files reviewed. One child did not have immunization status (with dates) on file.

• To qualify for employment in a community care facility as a responsible adult, a person must have completed a course, or a combination of courses, of at least 20 hours duration in child development, guidance, health and safety, or nutrition,

  Observation. Eight staff files were reviewed, two staff did not have records on file showing 20 hours of appropriate training to be a Responsible Adult.

• A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a valid certificate issued under Division 2 and the Licensee has verified certification

  Observation. Eight staff files reviewed, one educator did not have their certificate validated.

  Corrective action. Ensure educators and assistant certificates are validated. Action/s Required by Licensing: Follow Up Inspection to be conducted.

  Observation. Licensing reviewed eight staff files and one staff did not have character references on file.

  Corrective action. Ensure all staff have character references on file prior to employment. Action/s Required by Licensing: Follow Up Inspection to be conducted.

• A 1.8 metre (6 feet) clearance around equipment is considered safest

  Observation. Three plastic slides in the large playground and two plastic slides in the small playground did not have six foot clearance.

  Corrective action. A six foot clearance around elevated equipment did not have six foot clearance. Action/s Required by Licensing: Follow Up Inspection to be conducted.

• Protective surfacing such as soft sand, wood chips, pea gravel or rubber material will reduce the risk of injury from falls

  Observation. Elevated equipment, 3 feet in height, 2 feet in height, in the Group Child (30 Months to School Age) program had hard earth underneath. The embankment slide had hard surfacing at the place the children reach the ground.

  Corrective action. Ensure soft surfacing is placed around elevated equipment to reduce the risk of injury from falls. Action/s Required by Licensing: Follow Up Inspection to be conducted.
