The licensee must (a) develop the care plan in consultation with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.
Observation. Upon review of children's file 1 child appears to require a care plan. Discussion with manager in regards to what should be included within a care plan. (See section 58 in the CCLR)
Corrective action. Please provide a written response by the date below.
19250 - CCLR s.58(2)(a) - STAFFING
A licensee must not employ as a manager a person who, at the time that the person is managing the licensee's community care facility, is also managing another community care facility. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Upon file review, manager is also managing another site and exemption on file has expired.
Corrective action. Manager has submitted a new exemption request to licensing.

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed a drip mat used under a sensory table. The drip mat was very slippery posing a tripping hazard. A staff removed the drip mat.
Corrective action. Ensure surfaces do not pose a tripping hazard for the children.

A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. Fire extinguisher has not been serviced annually.
Corrective action. Ensure the fire extinguisher is serviced.
13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Observation. 10 children's files were reviewed. Out of the 10 reviewed, 1 file did not have information for a medical practioner.
Corrective action. Ensure children's files contain a medical practioners name and phone number or a walk in clinic.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.
Observation. 5 staff files were reviewed, out of the 5 reviewed 1 file did not have a criminal record check.
Corrective action. Ensure all staff files contain a current and valid criminal record check.

Corrective action. Ensure staff holding an educator or assistant certificate, have their certificate verified through the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry.
