- RECORDS AND REPORTING
The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): The care plan was not reviewed annually with the parent or any person requested to by the parent. The Manager corrected the care plan on site.
Corrective action. Ensure care plans are reviewed annually.
19260 - CCLR s.58(2)(b) - STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Immunization status was not obtained for one employees. The staff provided her immunization status on site.
Corrective action. Ensure staff files are complete.
12090 - CCLR s.19(1)(f) - STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation) Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed a staff certificate was not validated. The Manager validated the certificate on site.
Corrective action. Ensure staff files are complete.

Observation. Licensing observed a staff working with the children who does not hold a current and valid First Aid and CPR Certificate as per schedule C.
Corrective action. Ensure all staff hold a current and valid First Aid and CPR certificate.

A licensee, other than a licensee who provides a care program described as either Preschool (30 Months to School Age) or Group Child Care (School Age), must have in a community care facility a sturdy surface for changing diapers, located outside the food preparation area, next to (b) a wash basin. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): LO observed that diapering area was not next to a wash basin.
Corrective action. To re-locate diapering area into the washroom, next to a wash basin.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): LO observed that diapering area was not next to a covered container.
Corrective action. Discussion was had to re-locate diapering area into the washroom, next to a covered container.

Observation. Licensing noted no record of a fire drill completed for December 2022. The Licensee stated a fire drill was completed, but was not recorded.
Corrective action. Ensure a record respecting compliance with the monthly fire drill and annual emergency plan is recorded.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. Observation. A selection of staff files were reviewed, out of the 2 reviewed, 1 file did not not contain a validation for their ECEA certificate.
Corrective action. Ensure staff holding an educator or assistant certificate, have had their certificate verified thorugh the Ealy Childhood Educator registry.

The licensee must not permit a person over the age of 12 to be ordinarily present on the premises of a community care facility while children are present, unless the person is of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for that person.
Observation. Licensing noted 2 individuals who are ordinarily present on the premise have expired criminal record checks.
Corrective action. Ensure individuals who are ordinarily present have obtained current and valid criminal record checks.

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. Licensing observed the following in the outdoor play area: - There is a concrete boulder children use to climb and jump off of. There is insufficient fall zone clearance surrounding the boulder.
Corrective action. Please ensure a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times.
